Cloud migration services move your applications, data, and infrastructure to the cloud in controlled stages, so the business keeps running while you cut cost and lift reliability. Planned and run by a senior engineering team that migrates its own production systems.
Most cloud migrations go wrong by moving everything at once and hoping. We assess first, pick the right path for each application, and move in waves while the business stays live. You get lower infrastructure cost and better reliability without a risky big-bang cutover.
What cloud migration means
Cloud migration is the process of moving applications, data, and infrastructure from on-premises servers or one cloud to another, in planned stages that keep the business running. It is not a single lift; it is a sequence of decisions, per application, about what to move, how to move it, and what to change on the way.
Applications, data, and the infrastructure around them.
We migrate the whole surface, not just the easy parts, and we choose the approach per workload rather than forcing one method on everything.
Lift and shift
Move an application to the cloud with minimal change first, to cut operational risk and data-centre cost quickly, then modernize from a stable base.
Re-platform
Swap in managed databases, queues, and services during the move, so you get cloud benefits without a full rewrite.
Re-architect
Break a fragile system into cloud-native services where the pain justifies it, one seam at a time.
Data migration
Move databases and storage with integrity checks and a tested rollback, so nothing is lost and downtime stays inside a planned window.
How a migration runs, in controlled waves.
Onboarding and migration run on a predictable rhythm, not a fixed guarantee. The sequence below is typical.
Assess
We inventory the applications, data, and dependencies, and flag the risks and the quick wins. You get a real picture before anything moves.
Plan the path per app
Each workload gets the right method, lift and shift, re-platform, or re-architect, with a target architecture and a cost estimate.
Migrate in waves
We move workloads in planned waves behind tested rollbacks, so the business stays live and each step is reversible.
Validate
Each wave is checked for correctness, performance, and data integrity before we move on, not after the whole thing is done.
Optimize
Once stable, we tune cost, autoscaling, and reliability, so the cloud bill reflects what you actually use.
We run and migrate our own production infrastructure, multiple applications on shared databases and hosting, so this is first-party experience, not a slide deck. The same discipline we use to modernize legacy systems applies here: assess, protect behaviour, move in small safe steps.
Big-bang migration vs a phased migration
Teams usually choose between moving everything in one cutover or migrating in waves. The phased path is slower to finish and far safer to live through.
| Phased migration with Shubpy | Big-bang cutover | |
|---|---|---|
| Risk | Each wave is reversible; the business stays live | One failure can take the whole system down |
| Learning | Early waves inform the later ones | You find the problems all at once, at the worst time |
| Downtime | Planned, inside small windows | A long, high-pressure cutover |
What a migration engagement includes, and what it does not
Honest scope keeps a migration controlled instead of open-ended.
Included: discovery and a dependency map; a per-application migration plan and cost estimate; the migration itself in waves with tested rollbacks; data migration with integrity checks; and post-migration cost and reliability optimization. You can add embedded engineers to your team for the duration, or combine it with application modernization.
Not included, by design: a fixed price before discovery, because an estimate without a dependency map is a guess; the cloud provider's own bill, which you pay directly; a big-bang cutover, which we advise against; and work outside the agreed scope without a new quote.
What are cloud migration services?+
Planning and running the move of your applications, data, and infrastructure to the cloud in controlled stages. It covers assessment, per-application strategy, the migration itself in waves, data migration, and post-move cost and reliability tuning.
How long does a cloud migration take?+
It depends on the number and complexity of applications, which is what the assessment establishes. We migrate in waves so value lands early, and we give a real timeline after discovery rather than a guess before it.
Will our systems go down during migration?+
We migrate in waves behind tested rollbacks, so the business stays live and any downtime sits inside small planned windows. Each step is reversible, so a problem in one wave does not take the whole system down.
Which clouds do you migrate to?+
We work with the major providers and choose against your needs and budget rather than a default. We can also migrate between clouds or from on-premises to a single provider.
Do you help cut our cloud costs after migrating?+
Yes. Once the system is stable we tune autoscaling, right-size resources, and remove waste, so the cloud bill reflects actual usage. Cost optimization is part of the engagement, not an upsell.
