We built it, then rescued it.

GuidesClasses is a coaching institute whose website we built from scratch. They chose to run it themselves without an ongoing care plan. Months later, with no security updates in place, the WordPress site was hacked. They came back to us. We removed the infection, cleaned out years of cruft, hardened it, and put it on active care so it stays safe.

GuidesClasses homepage, a coaching centre site

The background.

GuidesClasses runs coaching for students. We built their website from scratch and handed it over. Like a lot of small institutes, they chose to manage it themselves and passed on an ongoing care plan.

A WordPress site is never truly finished, though. It needs regular security updates the way a car needs servicing. With no one maintaining it, the site's protections lapsed, and months later it was compromised: malware infected the installation, years of accumulated files dragged load times down, and there was no clear picture of where the threats were hiding. The institute came back to us to put it right.

What we did.

  • Full scan. Scanned the site to find every vulnerable and infected file.
  • Malware removal. Removed the infection and the malicious code behind it.
  • Cleanup. Stripped out outdated and unused files dragging on performance.
  • Hardening. Put security measures in place to prevent a repeat.
  • Ongoing care. Moved the site onto active maintenance so updates never lapse again.

Outcomes.

  • Restored and secure. Infection removed, site cleaned.
  • Better performance. Faster load times after the cleanup.
  • Protected going forward. Hardened and now actively maintained.
  • Uninterrupted access. A reliable site for students.

Site hacked, or heading that way?

Most WordPress hacks trace back to a site left unmaintained. We build sites and keep them updated and secure, so this never happens to you. If yours needs cleaning up or ongoing care, let's talk.
