Custom Software · San Jose & the Bay Area

Custom software for San Jose teams, built to survive production.

We build web platforms, internal tools, and business software for San Jose and Bay Area companies, designed, built, and operated by the same senior engineers in Django and Next.js. Remote-first, with a Bay Area presence.

Three situations we see at the start of every engagement

01
Prototypes that have outgrown their foundations

Bay Area startups who've validated an idea on Streamlit, Bubble, or a quick script and now need a real production system before growth stalls, without a full rebuild that takes a year.

02
Engineering capacity gaps that hiring can't fill fast enough

Tech companies that need senior engineers immediately, not in six months after a hiring cycle, and won't get them from an agency that swaps in a junior team after the proposal is signed.

03
Legacy systems that make every new feature expensive

Established Bay Area businesses running on software built years ago that now creates security exposure, slows every release, and has accumulated technical debt no internal team wants to own.

Recent work

Ailyze
Prototype to production Django SaaS, shipped in six months.

Ailyze had built a qualitative research analyzer on Streamlit. We converted it into a secure, production-grade Django SaaS with proper user management, integrations, and a product UI built for real research teams.

Setera
A custom portal for global communications that the team actually uses.

Setera's existing portal was slow and worked against the team. We built custom software with an interface designed around how their business actually operates: complex data flows, clean UI, no compromises.

ResInnov
A faster, resilient platform for a global research firm.

ResInnov was losing users to slow load times and downtime under load. We rebuilt the platform for speed, mobile performance, and resilience. The kind of work that compounds over time.

How we work

Fixed-scope projectfrom $25,000

A defined problem with clear deliverables. We scope it, build it, and hand it over with documentation. Right for greenfield builds and well-understood migrations.

Dedicated engineering teamfrom $6,000 / engineer / mo

A named team of senior engineers embedded in your product cycle. Works well for ongoing development, high velocity requirements, or products that are never fully "done."

Embedded engineeringfrom $6,000 / engineer / mo

One senior engineer inside your existing team, aligned to your tools and processes. No separate agency relationship, no context-switching tax.

Same model as our full software practice: engagements typically start at $25,000  ·  embedded engineering from $6,000/engineer/mo  ·  discovery & scoping from $1,500. Pricing in USD. INR billing available.

Why San Jose companies work with Shubpy

The offshore dev shop pitch sounds the same as ours until the project starts. Here is what is actually different.

Direct founder involvementShubham Wadhwa is involved in every engagement from scoping through delivery. Not delegated to a junior account manager after the first call.

Senior engineers, not junior deliveryThe engineers who scope the work are the same ones who build it. No bait-and-switch after the proposal is signed.

What to expect from the engagement

Do you actually work with San Jose and Bay Area companies?+

Yes. Remote-first with a San Jose presence for in-person time when the project calls for it. Senior engineers who stay on the engagement, not a rotating roster.

How does the timezone overlap work day to day?+

Our engineering team is in Gurugram, India, with a San Jose office for partnership. We keep a 9am–1pm PST overlap window: real-time collaboration when you need it, not a 12-hour lag on every question.

Do you work with early-stage startups as well as established businesses?+

Both. Whether you're building an MVP or extending a mature platform, the same senior team scopes and builds it. The engagement model adjusts, the quality doesn't.

Can you work alongside our existing engineering team?+

Yes. Embedded engineering is one of our standard engagement models: one or more senior engineers working inside your team, on your codebase, in your tools, without managing a separate agency relationship.

Do you travel to San Jose for workshops and kick-offs?+

Yes. We use the San Jose office for kick-offs, design workshops, and architecture reviews. We won't fly to every sprint ceremony, but we're available for the sessions that warrant it.

Tell us what you need to build.

Start with a short paid discovery. We'll map the system and a realistic path to a working product, or tell you if it isn't us.
